eye test service

Our Eye Care Services

Our private Eye Examination takes approximately 45 minutes and includes our new OCT 3D scan of the eyes (instead of retinal photography).

If you qualify for a funded NHS Eye Examination and would like to have the OCT 3D scan this can be carried out for a small private fee.

Please note, that to be entitled to any of the additional eyecare services you must have a registered GP in Shropshire.

Both Katherine and Noel our Optometrists are accredited for carrying out additional eyecare services on behalf of the NHS.

MECS

This is a service for minor eye problems eg red eye, flashes and floaters.

Repeat Measures

This is a scheme that repeats your eye pressure measurements if they are outside the NICE guidelines. It is carried out by one of our Optometrists.

Pre Operative Cataract Assessment

Is a service for those whose cataracts are suitable for referral into the hospital service for surgery. The appointment involves having drops to dilate your eyes (to allow the Optometrist a better look at your eyes). You will be unable to drive after the appointment until the drops have worn off and your vision returns to normal.

Post Operative Cataract Assessment

Is a service you will be referred back into by the consultant who carried out the Cataract surgery after you have been discharged from the hospital service. It is carried out 4-6 weeks after the surgery. The appointment involves having drops to dilate your eyes (to allow the Optometrist a better look at your eyes just as in the preoperative assessment). You will be unable to drive after the appointment until the drops have worn off and your vision returns to normal.
